
Meg Maher was born in 1946 and grew up in the Buffalo area.
A graduate of the College of New Rochelle, she went on to gain a Masters in Art
and Art Education from Columbia University,
NY,NY and a Master in Fine Art in Painting from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY.
She was a teacher of art in the Herricks Public Schools on Long Island from 1969-2001
and found teaching to be an extraordinary source of energy and pride.
Other studies in art include the Vermont Studio School,
Sun Valley Center for the Arts in Idaho and the Oxbow Workshop,
Michigan, as well as study abroad in Italy and China. Watercolor
was a first love and her latest work has been in oils and
mixed media. She has shown widely in the NY area.
Meg now lives and works in Sarasota Florida, with her husband
the actor, Vernon Pierce. |
